Dear Alien,

We are very pleased that you have chosen to come to our wonderful country. We are truly honored to receive you in our midst. There are just a few formalities to get out of the way, to make sure that you and our country are a good match.

You are here because we believe in human rights; and so must you. But with human rights come human responsibilities. In order to stay here you will have to become one of us, and to do that you have to be willing and able to accept these responsibilities.

We have a rich and ancient national culture, which you will have to wholeheartedly adopt and to help us develop it and safeguard it from bad influences. You may, of course, keep your memories of the national culture of your country of origin, especially when it comes to music, dance, the visual arts, cuisine and so on, but you must understand that if you are to live with us, it is our culture that has to come first. Therefore, you will have to abandon any elements of your old culture that are incompatible with ours. If you fail to do so at any point, then you will be asked to leave.

We have a subtle and expressive national language, of which we are quite proud. Not all of us are expert in its use; many of us make mistakes in speaking and in writing it. But those of us who were born here have a birthright to be here, even if we make mistakes. Not so with you: your continued presence here is entirely conditional on your mastery of our national language. Of course, we will offer you all the help we can in learning and perfecting your language skills, but if you fail to demonstrate oral and written competence within a reasonable period of time, then you will be asked to leave.

We have many freedoms, which we treasure above all else. One of them is freedom of religion: each and every one of us is free to choose what to believe, or whether to believe anything at all. We are a secular society, and religious principles can never be allowed to determine our laws or policies. It is very important that you respect freedom of religion, including freedom from religion. Even your own family members must be free to decide whether to be Neopagan, Pastafarian or Atheist. If you refuse to grant them this freedom, and attempt to use religion in a socially divisive or discriminatory manner, then you will be asked to leave.

Another very important freedom is freedom from discrimination. Our people enjoy the same basic rights regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, skin color, ethnicity, age or physical and mental abilities. If it is discovered that you discriminate against people, including members of your own family, and deny them their rights, then you will be asked to leave.

We also enjoy numerous liberties: we are pretty much free to do and say whatever we want, as long as nobody gets hurt by our actions. If you are to become one of us, you must respect these freedoms and liberties and help us defend them. We are forever debating the limits of what is permissible; for example, at what age should young women be allowed to take part in bikini contests, or whether it is permissible to have sex on the beach if it is dark, there are no minors present, and everyone is too drunk to care anyway. As a newcomer, you will need to abandon the notions of what was or was not permissible in your country of origin, and work on understanding and accepting ours. If you try to deny us our liberties, or to impose your notions on us, then you will be asked to leave.

To make sure that there are no misunderstandings, please read this over again carefully and ask any specific questions this raises for you, especially on how this pertains to your native customs, culture or religion. We will make every effort to give you good, accurate answers. And once you are satisfied that you understand what is being asked of you, you must decide whether or not to swear the following oath.

I do solemnly swear:

1. That it is my earnest desire to become one of you, to obey your laws, follow your customs, absorb your culture and master your language.
2. That I will make every effort to become a valuable, accepted, respected member of your society.
3. That I will abandon any elements of my culture or religion that are incompatible with the rights and liberties you enjoy.

Shrinking the Technosphere, Part VII

You have survived your first winter on the land. Congratulations! The worst part of the ordeal is quite possibly over. Gone are whatever addictions and expectations with which you arrived, be they internet access or coffee. Your new world consists of the few people around you, and a huge number of plants and animals. But it is a world that is indisputably yours—to make the best of, and to pass along to your children and grandchildren.

In the beginning some elements of unnaturelike technology will persist. But as seasons wear on your newfound world will no longer include electricity or electronics, synthetic materials or fabrics, internal combustion engines (no more outboard engines, snowmobiles or chainsaws). Firearms, synthetic pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and much else will quietly fade from memory.

In place of gadgets there will be books: the riverboat that makes its rounds of shoreline settlements exactly once a year—in midsummer—carries a lending library, dropping off books one summer and picking them up the next. It also distributes a set of textbooks made available by the government: language and literature, mathematics, botany, biology, chemistry, physics, geography and geology. Some of the textbooks haven\’t changed in many generations; after all, there has been very little new that would be useful to you. Others have needed an update or two; the geography textbook no longer lists countries such as Bangladesh, Kiribati or US states such as Louisiana and Florida, which won\’t be around for much longer. Numerous failed states with morbid populations and undefended borders will be given scant mention.

In place of synthetic fabrics or cotton there will be cloth of flax and hemp (cotton goes away along with industrial chemistry, on which it depends for pesticides). Much use will be made of leather, wool and fur, the last of which already essential for your continued survival. In place of internal combustion engines there is muscle—animal or human. Since pharmaceuticals are largely gone, everyone is busy picking and cultivating medicinal plants and practicing preventive therapies. A favorite for killing off viruses is a trip to the sauna followed by a roll in a snowbank or a dip in an ice hole.

Metals will be about the only relic of industrialism still in widespread use. There is no practical limit to the amount of mild steel scrap that will be available from industrial ruins—enough to keep all the blacksmiths (of a much smaller and widely dispersed population) busy for thousands of generations. Copper will remain a favorite, since it can be cold-worked into any shape. Where metals will be scarce, skilled artisans will work them with stone tools.

This may seem like a harsh life, but all of the alternatives are worse. As the average global temperature rises by over 17ºC—far in excess of the 2ºC still bandied about by the politicians and their court scientists—most of the inland areas further south will be made unlivable by summer heat waves with wet bulb temperatures in excess of 35ºC. Without air conditioning such temperatures are lethal, and summer heatwaves, accompanied by blackouts, will kill off entire cities. Coastal cities will perish for a different reason: ocean level will rise by at least 30 meters, putting them permanently under the waves. With the disappearance of mountain glaciers entire countries that depend on glacial melt for irrigation—and there are many of them—will starve. For populations used to living on the coasts and earning a living from the sea moving further inland will not help much—because of all the nuclear power plants that will go underwater with their spent fuel pools still stocked, producing hundreds of new Fukushimas that will make the oceans too radioactive to fish. And as climate change continues and accelerates all of these problems will get worse and worse.

But then here you will be, near one of the major Eurasian or North American north-flowing rivers that empty into the Arctic Ocean—Lena, Ob\’, Yenisey or McKenzie. You are high enough above the quickly rising ocean level, and away from everything else—including the still crowded major population centers that will be getting ready to go through an episode of mass extinction. If the summers get too hot or too dry, you can relocate further downstream, closer to the Arctic Circle, where it will be cooler and wetter. All the while, you can go on practicing your Naturelike Technology Suite, some of which has not changed much since the landscape you now occupy was first settled thousands of years ago. In the summer, the now ice-free, navigable Arctic Ocean will allow the surviving remnants of humanity to keep in touch.

But to make such a best-case scenario possible in a now guaranteed worst-case environment will take more than just relocation and successful adaptation. What has driven the planet to the edge of an environmental abyss is a culture, and the economic system it enables, which worships the blind pursuit of profit and growth at any cost. This culture, based on rapine and plunder, if allowed to persist, will drive the planet over the edge of the abyss even as it and the people trapped in it go extinct. Can it be stopped? That is what we will look at next.

Shrinking the Technosphere, Part VI

Suppose your situation is such that you need to effect a swift change of venue. The circumstances that prompt this relocation can be quite varied, but the common and foreseeable ones are:

1. There is no fresh water where you are. The reservoirs are dry and dusty, the artesian wells are either no longer producing or are producing water laced with arsenic and heavy metals, and the few desalination plants bottle their water and sell it at prices you cannot afford. What was once fields and pasture is reverting to sand dunes. Forests have dried out, burned down, and are now a lunar landscape criscrossed by deep ravines eroded by sporadic torrential downpours—too sporadic and too torrential to be of benefit.

2. The place where you live is under a few feet of ocean water mixed with raw sewage—not all the time, but often enough that staying there has become a very bad idea. An onshore wind combined with a high tide and a bit of rain are enough to make contaminated, brackish water spew out of every storm drain. With each passing year and more and more basements are flooded, more and more foundations undermined, more and more buildings condemned. Places further inland flood more rarely but are already too crowded, and will be subject to the same conditions after a slight delay.

3. Your country has been overrun by “refugees” who have looted the shops, occupied many of the public buildings and are busy beating up the men and raping the women (like they are doing in Sweden, which is now the second-rapiest country in the world, Lesotho in South Africa is the rapiest). There are large sections of your city where even the military, never mind the police, fear to venture. But the rest of the city is not the least bit safe. Beardless men and women without proper headdress are attacked without warning. Property crimes and home invasions by “refugees” are not persecuted for fear of giving them an excuse to start a riot.

4. Your country has gone full-retard fascist. Your best option is to work a soul-destroying corporate job while slowly sinking deeper and deeper into debt, hoping against hope that you will make it all the way to retirement, even as you watch your colleagues being replaced by machines, illegal immigrants and underpaid foreign contractors. Your second-best choice is to subsist on meager social benefits, most of which go to pay for drugs, which you need in order to hold on to what remains of your sanity while the pressure of perverse government incentives destroys your family and your children turn feral. Whichever option you choose, you are electronically monitored 24/7 and are absorbed into the prison system for the tiniest transgression, where your best chance to survive is by working as a slave.

5. You are doing fine economically, but you find your environment, both physical and human, increasingly unsatisfactory. Everything you see around you is cheaply slapped together out of industrially produced components, dressed up with a gaudy plastic veneer to make it “look nice.” It all looks computer-generated because, in fact, it is. All the people around you walk around ignoring the real world, which they might as well, since their physical environment is just an older, no longer fashionable version of what they see on the screens of the mobile computing devices to which they are hopelessly addicted. They are obese, emotionally stunted, physically helpless and, as far as you are concerned, might as well not be there. In fact, you\’d enjoy seeing them replaced with cages of parakeets, potted plants or nice round rocks in a Zen garden. Their parents and grandparents once got things done by pushing buttons on machines, but now it is the machines that push their buttons and program them to say and feel various things on command. You can\’t help obsessing over the fact that this is not real life—that real life is somewhere else, and that you must go and find it before you run out of time.

6. Any combination of the above, including all of the above.

Let us further assume that the logistics and the political situation around your relocation have been sorted out: your papers are in order and you have a berth on a ship that will take you to a river port near your destination. From there, a river boat will take you upstream to a spot near your assigned 100 hectares (250 acres) of land, where you, perhaps with a group of like-minded others, will be left with enough supplies to make a fresh start. You slip away in the night with just a change of clothing and a pocketful of mementos, quiet as a cat, never to be heard from again.

Your land is being granted to you by the government in the form of a perpetual, heritable lease, with no commercial rights over it whatsoever, for you and your children to use sustainably in perpetuity, for as long as you physically reside on the land. The terms are not particularly onerous: you are taxed only on home-produced goods that you sell, and one of your sons may be conscripted in case of a national emergency, provided he is not your only or your eldest son, and not a younger son either if he is the family\’s main provider.

But there is a problem: your land is quite far north. Nine months out of the year, the temperature there is near or below freezing, and during the coldest 4-5 months it can get as cold as -40ºC. In the dead of winter there are only three hours of sunlight. But during the other three months the temperatures soar to +35ºC and there is 21 hours of sunlight. Another problem is that the land is not easily accessible. There are no roads; nor are there plans to build any. During the summer it is accessible on foot and over water; during the winter it is accessible by ski and sled, over snow-covered land and frozen water. During spring, when trails turn to mud and broken ice rushes down streams and rivers, it is not accessible at all. Nor is it accessible during autumn, when snow falls on ground that isn\’t frozen yet and forms a heavy, wet slush, and when the ice on waterways is already too think to navigate but not yet thick and solid enough to travel over. But there is also good news: each year, the climate is getting warmer, with the frosts arriving later, the thaws setting in earlier, the growing season getting longer, and more and more deciduous trees taking root in sunny, sheltered spots.

A river boat will drop you off a the water\’s edge within less than a day\’s hike of your land. It will be in early summer, after the rivers are clear of ice and the riverbanks are no longer flooded. You will have just enough time to prepare for next winter, so that you can survive it.

What you can take with you is what you and members of your party can carry on their shoulders, ferrying supplies from the river\’s edge to your plot of land. This basic kit includes:

1. An axe, and spare axe heads
2. A knife, and several knife blades without handles
3. Shovel heads
4. Saw blades
5. A file for keeping all of these sharp
6. A shotgun and a dozen shells
7. Heavy boots, a parka and other cold weather gear
8. Several changes of clothing per person
9. Emergency medical kit
10. A few pots, cups, spoons, forks
12. A samovar
12. Several sacks of grain (rye)
13. Several sacks of potatoes
14. Assorted seed packets
15. Canvas tents
16. A small assortment of tools (such as sewing kit) and supplies (such as tea)

You will also be bringing with you a few animals:

1. Dogs (one of them male) to serve as your security system and to help you hunt and pull sleds
2. Cats (one of them male) to keep the rodent population under control
3. Chickens (one of them male) to provide eggs, meat and to keep the bugs under control

This, plus your body, is all of your initial “hardware” which you will use to bootstrap the entire operation; everything else is “software”—and it has to be downloaded directly to your brain before you begin, with a full back-up in somebody else\’s brain in case something goes wrong with yours. This is your Naturelike Technology Suite (NTS), and if you use it correctly, your chances of surviving, living a long and happy life, and leaving behind happy, healthy, self-reliant children are much better than in any and all of the typical scenarios outlined above.

The land is neither farmland nor pasture but boreal forest, thick with coniferous trees, mostly pines and firs. There is plenty of animals you will be sharing it with, especially in the summer when the migratory birds make their appearance and lots of other animals come out of hibernation. But your first concern is with bears, who have come out of hibernation some time ago, but are still hungry and very ornery. The local wolves may also take a keen interest in your camp. You will need to impress it upon all of them that this is now your territory as well as theirs, by keeping fires lit at night, never going anywhere without a shotgun, or at least a forked stick, screaming at them and physically threatening them whenever you see them and other such measures. Shooting one alpha male of both the wolf tribe and the bear tribe, using up a few shotgun shells from your precious collection, then tanning the skins and sewing them into hats sends an unmistakable message: there is a new apex predator in these woods; act accordingly. As for the rest, you should try to make peace with them or let your animals handle them. If you leave them alone and sometimes (but only sometimes, on specific occasions) offer them food, they will become semi-tame over time, and will be much easier to catch by setting traps. Of these, back-breaking deadfalls are the most humane.

But your first and primary task is to fell trees—as quickly as possible, propping up the logs in sunny places so that they have a chance to dry out. The time to harvest timber is before thaws set in and the sap starts running, because after that the logs become much heavier and more difficult to work with and move, will not burn as well, and will rot much faster if you build with them. But you have arrived too late to do that, and have to make do with wet, heavy logs. (By the way, this is the exact opposite of what you would do in the tropics. There, you would harvest wood when it is full of sap, to protect it against insects and rot.) Regardless of the time of year, the best time to fell trees is on a full moon.

Your second task is to get food, to avoid depleting your supplies, which are for planting, not for eating. A spring thaw is an excellent time to get moose and reindeer, which can\’t run away because of the heavy, wet snow. Until the ice breaks, ice fishing also remains a possibility, and you can preserve your supply over the warm months by hot-smoking and drying the meat and the fish. But, again, you arrived too late, and your best chance to catch enough food is by setting traps and building weirs.

Your third task begins once the ground is thawed out enough and dry enough to dig. You need to move out of tents and into a slightly more permanent dwelling before winter. Constructing a log cabin during the first season is out of the question, because there is simply too much else to do, and because you arrived too late to get logs that are free of sap. But you can certainly harvest enough logs to build a dugout bunker that will last a few seasons. This is done by choosing a patch of land with good drainage and digging a trench. At the back of it is a hearth, along the sides are bunk beds. The roof is created using a layer of logs, the cracks between them packed with moss, and insulated by covering it with a thick a layer of dirt and sod. The hearth should have a flue, and a chimney high enough to stick out above the snow, or your fire will keep getting extinguished by meltwater. Two doors with a vestibule between them are an excellent idea. The vestibule will be used to store your supplies of frozen meat. The doors must open in rather than out, or you will be trapped inside by snowdrifts.

Your bunker should be surrounded by a wicker fence, constructed by driving stakes into the ground at intervals and filling the spaces between them with tightly packed twigs or saplings. Make the fence round rather than square, for a 25% increase in the amount of area encompassed for the same length of fence. A round fence also makes it easier for your animals to catch interlopers because there are no corners where they can hide and burrow. Curved fences are also better at resisting wind and snow drifts.

Your fourth task will be to grow food. The land you\’ve cleared by chopping down trees is covered with a thin layer of poor forest soil, acidic because of all the pine and fir needles, and is not immediately useful for planting. But if you dig various things into it, you will be able to use it to grow all of your staples: potatoes, rye, cabbages and turnips. Ashes from the hearth, thoroughly rotted tree trunks and mud dredged out of nearby streams all make useful soil amendments. Potatoes can be planted as chunks containing eyes, or buds, with one or two eyes per chunk, and the rest of the potato can be eaten. Rye can be grown in quite poor soils and is amazingly stubborn and keeps going until it goes to seed. Because of the nearly 24-hour sunlight and warm temperatures everything will grow very fast. Your animals will be kept busy, and well fed, by all the moles, voles and mice that will be trying to eat your produce.

By the time you are done growing and harvesting the food, days will start getting shorter and by sunrise frost will appear on trees and the walls of your tent. It will be time to move inside your bunker and start heating. Before the migratory fowl fly away, be sure to get some geese, or, failing that, ducks, and save their fat for the winter. Goose fat is smeared on any exposed skin when you venture outside in the dead of winter, to avoid frostbite.

Once the temperatures stay reliably below freezing, but before the winter blizzards set in, try to stockpile as many animal carcasses as you can, to gradually hack away at and defrost as the winter wears on. This is the time of year when animals are at their fattest and most complacent, and those that are the oldest and the least likely to survive the winter are ripe for the picking; if you don\’t get them the wolves will. The fat is particulary important: in a cold climate, it is almost impossible to get enough calories to stay warm while working outside in any other way, and how much winter work you will get done will be directly determined by how much animal fat you can get your hands on.

At the beginning of winter, most of your work outside will involve cutting, splitting and stacking firewood out of the logs you harvested in the springtime, since you do not want to be out swinging an axe when it\’s -40ºC outside and blowing a blizzard. But once your supply of firewood is laid in, there are other tasks to attend to.

First, you need to get serious about trapping for fur. The parka you brought with you will wear out and will need to be replaced with a fur parka you will need to sew yourself. The animals you trap will be frozen solid by the time you get to them, and can stay that way until springtime. You can gut them and skin them when they thaw out, saving the brain and the liver for tanning the pelt. The pelts will also serve as valuable trade goods—about the only ones you will be able to come up with during the first few seasons—and you will need trade goods in order to barter for the supplies you will need.

Second, if you are close enough to a river or a lake to make it there and back during daylight, you might also attempt some ice fishing, although without skis and a sled (unless you found time to make them already) your range will be quite limited.

Other than that, most of what you will do during the winter is cook, feed yourself, feed the animals, drink tea, tend the all-important fire and sleep a lot. The tea is important because working outside in cold temperatures is extremely dehydrating: the cold air sucks the moisture right out of you. This is why a samovar (which is stoked using pine cones or wood chips) is included in your initial survival kit. Trying to boil enough water in a pot over a hearth is far too slow and rather inefficient. But a bucket hung over the hearth is quite useful for melting snow, to get water for drinking and washing without going anywhere.

Before spring thaw arrives, you will need to get busy harvesting logs—for next winter\’s firewood as well as for building the log cabin. Once that\’s done, you will have won, surviving the most difficult first season without starving or dying of exposure, and ready to build your homestead. Once that\’s done, you will be well on your way to making a perfectly reasonable life for yourself and your family, using the rest of your NTS, which we will describe next.

A Most Convenient Massacre

What a difference a single massacre can make!

• Just a week ago the EU couldn\’t possibly figure out anything to do to stop the influx of “refugees” from all those countries the US and NATO had bombed into oblivion. But now, because “Paris changed everything,” EU\’s borders are being locked down and refugees are being turned back.

• Just a week ago it seemed that the EU was going to be swamped by resurgent nationalism, with incumbent political parties poised to get voted out of power. But now, thanks to the Paris massacre, they have obtained a new lease on life, because they can now safely embrace the same policies that a week ago they branded as “fascist.”

• Just a week ago the EU and the US couldn\’t possibly bring themselves admit that they are utterly incompetent when it comes to combating their own creation—ISIS, that is—and need Russian help. But now, at the après-Paris G-20 summit, everybody is ready to line up and let Putin take charge of the war against terrorism. Look—the Americans finally found those convoys of tanker trucks stretching beyond the horizon that ISIS has been using to smuggle out stolen Syrian crude oil—after Putin showed them the satellite photos!

Am I being crass and insensitive? Not at all—I deplore all the deaths from terrorist attacks in Iraq, in Syria, in Lebanon, and in all the other countries whose populations did absolutely nothing to deserve such treatment. I only feel half as bad about the French, who stood by quietly as their military helped destroy Libya (which did nothing to deserve it).

Note that after the Russian jet crashed in the Sinai there weren\’t all that many Facebook avatars with the Russian flag pasted over them, and hardly any candlelight vigils or piles of wreaths and flowers in various Western capitals. I even detected a whiff of smug satisfaction that the Russians got their comeuppance for stepping out of line in Syria.

Why the difference in reaction? Simple: you were told to grieve for the French, so you did. You were not told to grieve for the Russians, and so you didn\’t. Don\’t feel bad; you are just following orders. The reasoning behind these orders is transparent: the French, along with the rest of the EU, are Washington\’s willing puppets; therefore, they are innocent, and when they get killed, it\’s a tragedy. But the Russians are not Washington\’s willing puppet, and are not innocent, and so when they get killed by terrorists, it\’s punishment. And when Iraqis, or Syrians, or Nigerians get killed by terrorists, that\’s not a tragedy either, for a different reason: they are too poor to matter. In order to qualify as a victim of a tragedy, you have to be each of these three things: 1. a US-puppet, 2. rich and 3. dead.

Also, you probably believe that the terrorist attacks in Paris were the genuine article—nobody knew it would happen, and it couldn\’t have been stopped, because these terrorists are just too clever for the ubiquitous state surveillance to detect. Don\’t feel bad about that either; you are just believing what you are told to believe. You probably also believe that jet fuel can melt steel girders and that skyscrapers collapse into their own footprints (whether they\’ve been hit by airplanes or not). You can certainly believe whatever you like, but here are a couple of easy-to-understand tips on telling what\’s real from what\’s fake:

1. If it\’s fake, the perpetrators are known immediately (and sometimes beforehand). If it\’s real, then the truth is uncovered as a result of a thorough investigation. So, for instance, on 9/11 the guilty party were a bunch of Saudis armed with box cutters (some of whom are, paradoxically, still alive). And in Paris we knew right away that this was done by ISIS—even before we knew who the perpetrators were. And when that Malaysian jet got shot down over Ukraine, we knew right away that it was the Russians\’ fault (never mind that on that day the Ukrainians deployed an air defense system, and also scrambled a couple of jets armed with air-to-air missiles— against an enemy that doesn\’t have an air force). Note, however, how we still don\’t know what happened with the Russian jet over Sinai. That case is still under investigation—as it should be. If it\’s real, officials stall for time and urge caution while scrambling to find out what happened. When it\’s fake, the officials are ready to go with the Big Lie, and then do everything they can to make it stick, suppressing what shreds of evidence can be independently gathered.

2. If it\’s fake, than you should also expect cute little touches: designer logos for publicity campaigns ready to launch at a moment\’s notice, be it “Je suis Charlie” or that cute little Eiffel Tower inscribed in a peace symbol. There weren\’t any props to go with the Russian jet disaster—unless you count that tasteful Charlie Hebdo cartoon of a jihadi rocket having anal sex with an airliner. There might also be a few traditional titbits designed to feed a media frenzy, such as a fake passport found lying next to one of the perpetrators—because when terrorists go on suicide missions they always take their fake passports with them. The people who are charged with designing these events lack imagination and usually just go with whatever worked before.

We should certainly expect there to be more fake massacres of this sort—whenever the political situation becomes sufficiently fraught to call for one—because at this point ready-to-go jihadi terrorist cells are something of a sunk cost and can be deployed very cheaply and effectively. Of course we should grieve for the victims, but there is something far more important at stake than mere human lives, which are, deplorably, becoming cheaper with each passing year. We should grieve for the truth.

Shrinking the Technosphere, Part V

[Réduire la techno-sphère, Partie V]

Before we proceed any further in describing how political technologies can be used to bring about the sort of dramatic social change that might grant humanity a new lease on life on planet Earth, let\’s describe what “naturelike technologies” might look like. By “naturelike” we mean something that is in balance with nature—its rhythms, both diurnal and annual, and its cycles: of water, carbon dioxide, organic nutrients—and human generations. By “technologies” we mean the know-how, passed from generation to generation, which one needs in order to survive—not any fancy gadgets or machinery, not the internet of things, nano-this or genetically-engineered-that.

Of course, there must also exist political technologies that can sustain and defend such an effort, especially against the predations of profit-driven psychopaths who have imperiled human survival through rapid resource depletion and out of control industrial development, but let\’s put this question aside for now…

While I was growing up in the USSR, every summer, from age five to age nine or so, my family would take off in some direction, east or west, on trips that could, in some of their aspects, be described as trips back in time. We spent one summer in a village so out-of-the-way that the locals demanded to know how we knew that their village existed. We hadn\’t known, neither did the authorities in the local regional center, and the locals seemed keen to keep it that way.

We simply tagged along with a geological survey team that was doing seismic testing, blasting its way along a hydrocarbon seam. Our method of transportation was a “Smotka”—a reel truck that bumped along rutted dirt roads running cable between sensors stuck in the ground that triggered small explosive charges, then recorded seismic data as jagged lines on spools of graph paper spewed out by a seismograph inside the truck.

It was a very poor village, with half of the intact log cabins boarded up, its few remaining residents in rough shape. At night, wolves and bears roamed the village, and meat, when we managed to get some from passing truck drivers, had to be buried outside, in a pit, with boulders piled on top. As the summer wore on and the wolves and bears got better at digging, the pit became deeper and the boulders larger.

We spent another summer in a village in the vicinity of Rybinsk, near lands flooded by the construction of hydropower dams, where most of the transportation was by boat over flooded land, and where the older people spoke an impenetrable Ugro-Finnish dialect whose name they didn\’t know. This village was more prosperous; most households had cows, which turned the dirt road that ran through the village center into a knee-deep wallow whenever it rained. I remember getting my rubber boots stuck in the mud, trying desperately to pull them out before the oncoming herd of cattle got to me, which included some quite ornery bulls that would periodically decide to chase me.

There were other summers too—on a family homestead in Estonia that had barely changed since the Middle Ages and had become something of a museum, with an impressive collection of wrought-iron candelabras that had actual candles in them, then on another family homestead in Transcarpatha of Western Ukraine—a working farm, and where I got a chance to herd cows on horseback (which I liked) helped with making hay (which I hate to this day) and slept in the hayloft with the family\’s four daughters (which I liked a lot).

We spent two summers in a hunting lodge on Lake Ladoga in Karelia which once belonged to Baron Gustaf Mannerheim—during the short period when Karelia was no longer part of the Russian Empire\’s Grand Dutchy of Finland but had not yet become Karelo-Finnish Soviet Socialist Republic within the USSR. By the time we got there it had been nationalized, turned into a resort and assigned to the Composers Union, of which my father was a member. There, I became obsessed with fishing, trolling from a rowboat for fresh-water pike which hid in the crevasses that ran along the bottoms of the fjords. We ate it after hot-smoking it with smoke from alder twigs.

Wherever we happened to be spending the summer, most of our days were spent wandering around the woods, foraging for berries, mushrooms and whatever else the woods had to offer. Everywhere, the woods were a maze of trails worn by the movements of both animals and people over many thousands of years.

Unlike what Americans like to call “wilderness” or, worse yet “unimproved land,” this was land that couldn\’t possibly be improved, because it was alive and full of spirit, where animal and human spirits commingled over thousands of years of uninterrupted harmony. In comparison, the North American landscape, with its national parks, marked hiking trails headed by large parking lots, and with the rest of it posted “no trespassing,” is a dead landscape, bereft of spirit and meaning, maintained because it is thought to have uses, such as recreation or conservation. That landscape is artificial: a mental construct overlaid on a natural realm that is considered alien. To an American, the map is the landscape; to a Russian living deep in the countryside, a map is evidence that you might be a government official or, worse yet, a spy.

In Russia, in most places you can walk in any direction for almost any distance, guided by memory and instinct rather than trail markings or a map. Rather than follow a marked trail single-file as Americans tend to do, in what to the untrained eye looks like a prison walk, in Russia people fan out across the landscape and keep in touch by yoo-hooing back and forth. Even young kids tend to wander the woods on their own, because American-style safety-consciousness is nonexistent and would probably be considered harmful—a way to raise nincompoops.

But the glorious Russian woods, so full of wonder and spirit, were also quite empty of people. In many places, we would happen across abandoned homesteads: trees sprouting from a foundation pit, the log cabin that stood over it long decayed into moss-covered mounds; a stout willow sprouting from a caved-in dug well—nature swiftly reclaiming the land. About the only structure left standing is the one, rather impressive, bit of masonry found in every traditional Russian village house: the Russian stove (of which more later). Sometimes there would be the remains of an orchard and a garden, the fruit trees—apples, pears, plums—still bearing fruit, along with the bushes and cane—currant, raspberry, gooseberry—but the potato field and the vegetable garden had already reverted to woodland.

This emptying of the rural landscape in Russia was one of the worst outcomes of the 20th century: collectivization and rapid industrialization following the Revolution drove people out of the villages and into the cities. The old, centuries-old patterns of local democratic self-governance and self-reliance were destroyed in a single generation. Old family farms were replaced by large communal farms and centrally planned agricultural production schemes. These turned out to be an unmitigated failure, forcing the USSR to resort to importing grain from the US and Canada on credit, and paving the way to its eventual destruction at the hands of its foreign creditors. Luckily, this effect was temporary; a quarter-century after the Soviet system fell apart, Russia is once again one the worlds main agricultural producers and exporters, taking first, second or third place in the production of most agricultural commodities.

Although there is quite a lot of mechanized industrial agriculture in Russia, for export commodities especially (Russia\’s Rosselmash stacks up well against John Deere) a lot of the food is still grown on small plots, which tend to be very productive, and their produce, sold through ubiquitous farmer\’s markets, is of higher quality. Western sanctions imposed on Russia following the putsch in Kiev, Crimea\’s referendum and the civil war in Eastern Ukraine, and the Russian countersanctions, which banned food imports from the offending Western nations, combined with lower oil prices and a speculative attack, which drove down the exchange rate of the Ruble, have given local agricultural producers a big boost. Sanctions notwithstanding, a lot of the food imports are never coming back. Russians are tuning into where their food comes from, plus Russia has banned all genetically modified products, cutting off imports from the almost entirely GM-corn-fed Americans.

A number of new initiatives and new legislation is making it easier for people to go back to small-scale farming. Certain categories of people, such as veterans and young families with children, now receive free parcels of land from the government. Income tax, which is normally a 15% flat tax plus a 1% retirement tax, drops down to just 6% for those who take up farming. Other factors, such as the widespread penetration of cell phone service and internet access and the growing popularity of home schooling (by Russian law, schools have to compensate homeschooling parents) are helping make rural living more popular. Reports that periodically surface in the social media from those who have moved out to villages tend to paint idyllic portraits of rural living. Slowly but surely, the landscape is being resettled.

This trend is in many ways a reversion to norm: over much of its millenium-plus-long history, Russia was a country of many small towns, numerous villages and countless isolated homesteads. This pattern of habitation suited the landscape, which is vast but provides rather diffuse resources to a preindustrial economy. Until quite recently most houses in Russia, even large ones, were built with wood, limiting their lifespan. Wood was, and still is, plentiful, but stone is quite scarce in many places, limited to some scattered boulders rolled across the landscape by glaciers many ice ages ago. Because of this, very little has remained in the way of ancient buildings or ruins: a few churches and a few forts. Of course, this changed with industrialization and the advent of cement, brick and reinforced concrete, but for many centuries before that Russian civilization left scarcely any permanent mark on the landscape—hardly anything that nature could not quickly reclaim by fire or decay.

The humble, rustic Russian village cabin, with its log walls and thatched roof, is physically impermanent: the logs rot; the thatch had to be replaced every few seasons. All that can be done to extend the life of the structure, which simply sits on wet ground, is to periodically replace the bottommost logs, but even then, after a few decades, the entire structure has to be abandoned—disassembled and cut up for firewood, burned in place, or simply allowed to decay into a compost heap. But as an easily replicated technology, it is ageless: a perfect set of adaptations to a difficult and demanding environment that have been honed to perfection over many centuries. It, along with the lifestyle and the practices associated with it, is a very good example of an all-encompassing naturelike technology. We shall describe it in detail in the next part of this seemingly never-ending series, which is at this point threatening to become feedstock for my next book.

A serious error of omission in RT\'s reporting on Germany

This article on rt.com makes it sound as if PEGIDA is specifically demonstrating today because it\’s the anniversary of Kristallnacht, whereas in fact they are demonstrating today because it\’s Monday—like they do every Monday. For them to not have demonstrated today would only have provided fodder for the antifascists. Note that I am not taking sides, simply pointing out a flaw in RT\’s coverage. To correct it, they would simply need to add one sentence: \”PEGIDA was demonstrating on Monday as they have done every Monday for a year now.\”

Supporting Evidence

[Note: a number of comments in response to this post were along the lines of \”this is right-wing\” or \”this is left-wing\” and of course I dutifully deleted all of them. You see, attempts to arrange all of humanity along a left-right axis are attempts at manipulation/coercion. Human preferences, even if artificially made into \”issues,\” form a multidimensional object. People insisting on being on the left or on the right are like sheep that insist on going through the left gate or the right gate, both of which lead to the abatoir. And so there is just one thing to say to people who think that what follows isn\’t sufficiently left-leaning or liberal: \”baa!\”]

The English translation of last week\’s editorial by Alex elicited some strange reactions from readers. Some called it “hysterical.” Some imagined that it signals some sort of political realignment of this blog with right-wing nationalism (I find it hilarious that people can be so clueless).

Overwrought phrases flew about, such as “rumor-mongering of a far-right fantasist,” “a hysterically exaggerated account,” “a terrible hodgepodge of healthy skepticism, dirty innuendo and paranoia,” “full of racism and xenophobia,” and so on and so forth.

A number of readers ran straight for the “conspiracy theory” rabbit hole. “Conspiracy theory” is strictly a term of abuse invented by the enemies of free speech and used to try to invalidate narratives that are not officially sanctioned by the Lügenpresse (the lying press). This term fails to signify anything beyond the fact that those who use it need to be taken out to the woodshed.

But there were also some rational voices: “Well, Alex\’ post may only seem hyperbolic because Die Lügenpresse is in fact doing a really bang-up job of obfuscating and telling big whopping lies. Really, friends, in the face of all of the clear evidence in front of your faces of the power-serving cravenness of the Western press over the last decade and a half (at minimum), is that such an outlandish possibility?”

No it isn\’t such an outlandish possibility at all. It is expected. Some also expected that the truth simply cannot be gleaned from media sources: “Alex gives an accurate account. You can\’t and won\’t be able to discover what is actually going on here because Germany is in total McCarthyite lockdown. The Germans call it simply Stalinism.”

Well—surprise-surprise!—that isn\’t quite the case, not by a long stretch. Below are 66 source citations, with quotes in the original German, and translations in English, French and Russian, which are required reading before you venture to express an opinion on the matter (unless your opinion is that you don\’t know what you are talking about—in which case you should keep it to yourself). It\’s hard to tell how long some of the source links will stay active, due to the abovementioned McCarthyite lockdown.

This is a blog post, not a defense of Alex in a public trial, but by the common standard of evidence that applies in civil trials there is a preponderance of evidence that Alex is neither hysterical nor a fantasist, but well-informed, rational and, given the Stalinist atmosphere that now prevails in Germany, forthright and brave. If you read through this entire document and check the sources (I forgive you if you can\’t read German, but I can\’t translate every last bit of it for you either) you will no doubt come to the same conclusion.

An Exit Strategy for Traitors

[Germany—the country at the center of the European Union and its economic powerhouse—is something of a black hole. 70 years after the fall of Nazism, it is still an occupied country, under military and political domination of the US. The national press, popularly referred to as Lügenpresse (the lying press) faithfully echoes the party line set in Washington. Germany\’s spineless politicians, popularly renamed from Volksvertreter (people\’s representatives) to Volksverräter (traitors to the people) are no better. And so we are unable to see what is actually happening there, as the European Union is, in the words of Russia\’s FM Sergei Lavrov, “committing suicide” by letting in the invading hordes from the Middle East. And so this short report by Alex, who tells us what he sees, is most welcome.]

Do you remember the last time you saw a man with wild eyes, strange clothes and a giant sign around his neck saying “The End Is Nigh”? “How ridiculous and pathetic!” you might have thought. Now, imagine the reality of your country changing within weeks to a point where you come to the same conclusion as him, suddenly feeling that his approach might be ever so reasonable. When a large part of your fellow-humans catch a strange sort of illness, one which leads to complete insanity faster than in the worst zombie outbreak, you might find yourself out of more viable strategies.

This exactly is happening to me, as well as most people I know, right now, right here in our export-champion, model-democracy Germany. Sane people are finding themselves isolated and helpless amid insane politicians, an antagonistic press, paralyzed communities and a large inert populace unable to even fathom what’s happening. I am of course talking about the so-called “refugee crisis,” but because even this name is working against us, I will call it what it really is—a war against Europe by means of invasion. It is now vitally important to call things by their right name, because this distinguishes friend from foe.

But it is even more important is to understand why this is a war rather than a crisis caused by refugees. Everything about this development bears the hallmarks of a military/intelligence operation.

First of all, look at the timing and the scale. It really took off around September, and within less then two month it is already threatening the stability of Europe as a whole, to a point where even the European “Leaders” are talking about the end of the European Union. Credible numbers are not available, but the German government estimates the number of “refugees” that have already arrived somewhere between one and two million, so the real number is probably much larger. Almost all the camps are crammed with far more people than is claimed. Some towns are being forced to cope with more “refugees” than they have citizens, some double as many. The estimates for next year amount to something between two and five million more “refugees.”

Ask yourself, why would millions of men (the overwhelming majority are young men) suddenly and collectively decide to leave their families behind, leave their country, travel thousands of miles and head for either Germany, Austria or Sweden, ignoring all the other safe countries on the way? Who told them that this would be worth it? Where did they all get the money to pay for it? Why was there absolutely no effort at any border to stop them? Why did this not start earlier? After all, the middle east has been a war zone for years—ever since the USA exploited 9/11 to start “spreading democracy.” How could this happen within days, weeks at most. Did the first hundred thousand send a message to the rest that it was OK for them to come too? If so, how?

Secondly, look at the character of the average “refugee.” Why are they all well-fed, well-clothed, self-confident young men showing no signs of stress or hardship? Why are they leaving their families behind? Do they know their wives and children can follow them later? If so, how? Why do these men not want to stay behind and try to rescue their countries? Why do they all own high-quality mobile phones charged with seemingly endless minutes? It is clear that the “refugees” have been briefed on exactly what kinds of social benefits they can demand, and how to go about doing it, and so they are audacious and become violent if met with resistance. They even demand expensive medical treatments, which are granted and taken for granted. Why? There are no background checks for any of these people—naturally, because there is no time to do ten thousand-plus background checks every day. For all we know, these people could be criminals, mercenaries and terrorists. An unknown number have serious diseases, such as hepatitis, TB and even the plague. No one keeps track of that, no one registered them, no one limits their freedom of movement. Those who register do so mostly with forged Syrian passports, which Turkey hands out like candy, even to black Africans who look nothing like the Syrians. Tens of thousands of “refugees” have “disappeared” from their camps, some even stopped the special trains midway to their destinations by pulling the emergency brake and ran off into the wilderness. Where to and why—no one knows. No one asks questions, but what is clear is that we have completely lost control over European territory.

Thirdly, there is the little matter of collaboration and treason. Even if this is a genuine refugee crisis, why is that none of the policies of the German/European government make any sense? And why is the press acting continuously and uniformly in favor of their policies, and is downright hostile toward the European populace? If millions of people have to flee immediate peril, there are a lot of different ways to care for them without endangering the integrity of Europe and ruining several national budgets. But instead of discussing what to do, how to do it and how to pay for it, the plan seemed to be predetermined, decided and fixed long ago.

The political “solution” is to soak every city and town in Germany, Austria and Sweden with people of unknown origin and intention. Flanked by a press hailing the process, underestimating their numbers and suppressing reports of crimes committed by the “refugees,” damning and demonizing every form of opposition. Every branch of government, all authorities and parties, in concert with the press, stand should to shoulder in pushing this agenda against the overwhelming indignation of their citizens and closing their eyes to the fact that this is against the law. Censorship, propaganda, hate speech, defamation and open rejection of basic democratic rights against any opposition, are simply exploding right now. A prime example of this is Germany\’s vice chancellor Sigmar Gabriel, who called an undefined but large part of the German populace who dare to oppose this insanity “Pack” (vermin).

Everyone who takes a stand in Germany now, opposing any refugee-related policy by the government, is subjected to insults is labelled as a right-wing extremist, a hateful criminal and a danger to society. Some get singled out and persecuted in public using extensive defamation campaigns. The author Akif Pirinçci became the latest victim after giving a speech at the PEGIDA demo, the accusation against him based on a shameless misrepresentation of the facts.

Even the most peaceful protest is immediately threatened with a ban (but most are still granted permission anyway). Every speech or publication mentioning treason or comparable accusations is instantly subject to investigations under the charge of demagoguery or threat of violence. Current examples can be found daily in the major mainstream outlets such as Der Spiegel, Die Welt, Bild and the like. If this situation came about by chance, such a spontaneous consensus would have been extremely unlikely. But from day one this has been an obvious propaganda/defamation campaign against the truth and against the interests of the European populace.

The German press even earned itself a new name that sticks: “Lügenpresse” (the lying press) is a word that can be heard on every corner. In private, the politicians are being called traitors all the time.

The national railroad company is ordered to offer special trains free of charge for the “refugees,” bringing them into every corner of Germany the fastest way possible while delaying regular trains.
Vacant houses and apartments are confiscated by force and given over to the “refugees” free of charge. Every “refugee” given rental housing is paid for by the communities, as much as 500 Euros per person per month. This is a big opportunity for some scumbags to make money really fast, by making, ill and elderly Germans homeless.

The police and the press have been ordered to suppress reports of any crimes the “refugees” commit, and so you will not find any in the press, nor even in police reports. But if you ask around, you will hear plenty of stories about rampant assaults and rapes in every city and many towns in Germany. Some “refugee” camps burned down, but most were burned down by their inhabitants, mostly in protest or because of minor disagreements. Police sirens are heard in every city every hour now.

When the “refugees” started shoplifting, then raiding supermarkets, the government told the retailers to keep quiet about this, and has been paying for everything that was damaged or stolen ever since. The only exceptions are alcohol and cigarettes—all other retail goods are free, no questions asked.

The small business sector has declared the “refugees” unemployable, due to zero qualifications, unwillingness to work and lack of language skills. However, the experts in the press somehow see a “big opportunity” to grow the economy. There is no critical discussion and no plan for the future. The only advice Chancellor Merkel gave to Germany was “Wir schaffen das” (We will do it), not elaborating exactly what we will do, nor how. But anyone brave enough to think for themselves can easily guess.

To keep it short, any political common sense and human instinct would prohibit such reckless, potentially irreversible, not to mention illegal behavior. Its end result is clearly visible: it is either the ruin of Europe—mainly the countries targeted by the “refugees,” which are Germany, Austria and Sweden—or war. Since I don’t believe that either coincidences or stupidity of this magnitude is possible, this is either treason or high treason. At least two charges have been filed against the current government, one for organized immigration crimes, and just recently for high treason. About 400 people became party to this action afterward. They are unlikely to succeed, because the judiciary is complicit. But if it isn’t obviously high treason now, it will become so within weeks—called out by everyone, because there is no end in sight.

The rest of organized society is equally treasonous. The press has openly declared itself an enemy of democracy and the general public, and at best a collaborators. The church, even while immediately threatened by violent Islam, prays for more immigrants, damning people who dare to utter doubts. The intelligentsia is either silent or applauds our altruism. The treason is complete. Police and the military are completely overwhelmed. The military was reduced in size long ago to the point of utter ineffectiveness and has been stressed out by international missions. The police is simply not equipped to handle millions of potential enemies fanned out all over Europe, awaiting the order to attack.

For foreign observers, this may sound far fetched and exaggerated. But consider this: in some areas of Germany, when you call the police now, no one will answer the phone. When they do, they are unable to do anything. A friend of mine called the police hotline (not the regular local emergency number) and was advised to form some sort of militia to solve the problem. A town of 600 has a dozen policemen at most, but often around a thousand “refugees” to handle. No one will come to their help if these “refugees” decide to take what they seem to believe is theirs already—because someone told them so, I guess. We are adrift in a sea of enemies, and the front-line in this war will run along the welcome mats at our front doors.

I find myself in a nightmare unable to wake up. Most people feel helpless and unwilling to accept the sad truth: we have been betrayed by everyone (except perhaps the police and the military) we entrusted with our safety and our hopes for the future. Even though the end of the global economy in its current form seemed a given to me, this kind of treason and ill intent to bring it all down took me by surprise. Among the twenty or so people I talked to about this in confidence, absolutely everyone is convinced that this is heading toward civil war—and fast! The only question remaining is whether the Germans start it, or the “refugees,” or some other party. We are one mayor terror attack away from sheer chaos. I have heard from several people connected to European security circles that the illegal weapons market is completely sold out, with many dealers holding on to their weapons for their own personal use. This is a rumour, but since we have been forced to depend on hearsay for any real information right now, I tend to believe it.

There is a small protest movement making headlines in Germany and even internationally. The PEGIDA movement has been gathering every Monday in Dresden to protest European immigration policy for a whole year now. They have had plenty of support since bad immigration policy has given rise to this manufactured “Völkerwanderung” (mass migration). On the October 19—the one-year anniversary gathering—around 35-40 thousand people came to protest peacefully, only to be attacked by several thousand violent “protesters” from the Antifa movement. An allegedly anti-fascist group, so violent and fascist in their behavior they would make for excellent recruiting material for the actual fascists of the SA or the NSDAP. One of the PEGIDA followers was beaten and severely wounded with a metal pole even before the gathering started. Several hundred policemen had to fight for their lives for hours. The Antifa, which is known to many as the second executive of the government, is nothing but an effective mobile force to quell resistance, exactly like the SA, only without the nice uniforms. Wherever demonstrations are announced, the Antifa members will travel there to express their opinion with “hard-hitting” arguments.

Unsurprisingly, PEGIDA is a prime target for hatred and defamation right now. As small as it is, the establishment seems to consider it as real danger, since their complete press gag order against it during the last year did not choke it off. But as important as they might be locally, the outcome seems to be irreversible. The invasion has succeeded already. With each passing day the numbers turn more and more against us. By now the best outcome is a civil war within months, reversing this development. The worst outcome is complete disintegration of European nations within the next few years, rendering large parts of the continent ungovernable. The divorce between the government and the people is almost complete by now. No sane person believes the press or the politicians. The ones who do retreat into fantasies of hate and self hatred. Never before was it more visible to me that this society is completely broken, with every key element, acting against both individual and collective interests, seemingly following orders while digging their own graves.

Once again, unquestioning obedience has taken over German society, but this time without the consent by the masses, because this time the final solution concerns them. The chaos that will follow will by no means be an accident: it is engineered and ordered.

Once again, yet another generation will have to answer to their grandchildren: How could you let this happen?

Немецкая пресса, которую немцы всё чаще величают Lügenpresse (лгущая пресса) систематично отражает линию партии, провозглашаемую из Вашингтона. Бесхребетные немецкие политики, всенародно переименованные из Volksvertreter (представителей народа) в Volksverräter (предателей народа) её ни чем не лучше. И потому невозможно увидеть, что там на самом деле происходит, по мере того как Евросоюз, как выразился Сергей Лавров, «совершает самоубийство, открывая дорогу беженцам» со Среднего Востока. Когда в последний раз вам попался человек с сумасшедшими глазами, одетый в отрепье, держащий огромный знак со словами «Конец близок»? «Как нелепо и жалко!» подумали бы вы скорее всего. А теперь представьте себе, что ситуация в вашей стране за какие-то несколько недель изменяется до такой степени, что вы приходите к тому же выводу, что и он, и неожиданно чувствуете, что его подход, возможно, вполне разумен. Увидев, как многие из ваших собратьев-человечков вдруг подхватывают какую-то странную болезнь, которая приводит к полнейшему безумию быстрее, чем при самом серьёзном нашествии зомби, вас может осенить, что нет более перспективного подхода.

Это именно то, что произошло со мной, и с большинством тех, с кем я знаком, прямо сейчас, прямо здесь, в нашей экспортной чемпионке, идеально демократичной Германии. Здравомыслящие люди оказываются изолированными и беспомощными среди невменяемых политиков, враждебной прессы, парализованных общественных организаций и оцепенелого общества, не способного понять, что происходит. Разумеется, речь идет о так называемом «кризисе беженцев», но так как даже сам этот ярлык работает против нас, я назову его тем, чем он на самом деле является: войной против Европы методом вторжения. Когда идёт война, очень важно называть вещи своими именами, потому что таким образом можно отличить своих от врагов.

Но еще важнее понять, почему это война, а не кризис вызванный беженцами, ибо в этой ситуации всё отображает характерные черты военной спецоперации с участием спецслужб.

Прежде всего, давайте посмотрим на расчёт по времени и масштаб. План был приведен в действие в сентябре, и всего два месяца спустя он угрожает дестабилизировать всю Европу, до такой степени, что даже европейские «лидеры» начинают рассуждать о гибели Евросоюза. Достоверные данные отсутствуют, но немецкое правительство дает предварительную оценку числу уже прибывших «беженцев» где-то от одного до двух миллионов, так что в действительности их число скорее всего значительно выше. Некоторым городам приходится иметь дело с бóльшим количеством «беженцев», чем там есть коренных жителей—иногда вдвое бóльшим.

Задайтесь вопросом: почему миллионы мужчин (подавляющее большинство из них—молодые мужчины) неожиданно пришли к коллективному решению оставить свои семьи, покинуть свою страну, пуститься в дальнее путешествие, и устремиться в Германию, Австрию или Швецию, игнорируя все промежуточные безопасные страны? Кто им сказал, что это стоит сделать? Откуда у них взялись на это деньги? Почему не было сделано никаких попыток их остановить ни на одной границе? Почему это не началось раньше? Ведь военные конфликты на Ближнем Востоке тянутся уже не год и не два—а с тех пор, как США воспользовались терактами 11 сентября, чтобы начать «распространять демократию». Как это могло произойти за какие-то дни, максимум за недели? Что ли, первые сто тысяч подали сигнал остальным, что им тоже можно трогаться? Если так, то каким образом?

Во-вторых, обратите внимание на типичного среднеарифметического «беженца». Почему все они хорошо откормлены, хорошо одеты, самоуверенные молодые мужчины, без каких-либо признаков пережитых бед или лишений? Почему они побросали свои семьи? Они уверены, что их жёны и дети смогут последовать за ними? Если так, то откуда у них эта уверенность? Почему эти мужчины не желают остаться и попытаться спасти свои родные страны? Явно, что «беженцы» получили полный брифинг о том, какие социальные блага они могут требовать, как это делается, а потому они ведут себя нагло, и прибегают к насилию если им оказывают сопротивление. Они даже требуют дорогостоящие медицинские процедуры, которые им предоставляются беспрекословно и воспринимаются, как нечто само собой разумеющееся. Почему это происходит? Почему не проверяются их анкетные данные—ну, это естественно, потому что не хватает времени проверить больше 10 тысяч анкет каждый день. Так что, насколько нам известно, эти люди могут быть преступниками, наёмниками и террористами. Неизвестное число из них заражено гепатитом, туберкулёзом и даже чумой. Никто за этим не следит, никто их не регистрирует, никто не ограничивает их свободу передвижения. Десятками тысяч они «исчезают» из своих лагерей. Некоторые из них даже останавливали при помощи аварийного тормоза специально предоставленные им поезда и сбегали в лес. Куда и почему—никому не известно. Никто не задаёт подобного рода вопросы, но ясно одно: мы полностью потеряли контроль над европейской территорией.

В третьих, существует маленький вопросик относительно коллаборационизма и предательства. Даже если это настоящий кризис с беженцами, почему политика Германии и Евросоюза в его отношении полностью лишена смысла? И почему пресса непрерывно и однородно положительно отзывается об этой политике, и откровенно враждебно настроена к европейскому коренному населению? Если миллионы людей вынуждены спасаться бегством из-за жизнеопасной ситуации, существует множество способов о них позаботиться без того, чтобы ввергать в опасность целостность Европы и подорвать несколько национальных бюджетов. Но вместо того, чтобы обсудить, что следует предпринять, как это осуществить, и как это оплатить, вроде как весь план был предопределён, принят и утверждён давно назад.

Это политическое «решение» состоит из того, чтобы потопить каждый город и каждую деревню в Германии, Австрии и Швеции в толпе людей, чьё происхождение и цель неизвестны, при содействии прессы, чьи задачи—преуменьшать их число, заглушать известия о преступлениях, совершаемых «беженцами», и проклинать и очернять любую форму оппозиции. Весь государственный аппарат, все власти и все политические партии, поют хором с прессой, стоя плечом к плечу и проталкивают эту повестку дня, невзирая на возмущение подавляющего большинства своих граждан и закрывая глаза на противозаконность происходящего. Цензура, пропаганда, ненавистнические высказывания, шантаж и открытое непризнание основных демократических принципов в отношении любой оппозиции сейчас в самом разгаре. Вот вопиющий тому пример: вице-канцлер Германии Зигмар Габриель заклеймил точно не определенную но большýю часть немецкого населения, осмеливающегося быть против этого сумасшествия, словом Pack (нечисть).

Сейчас в Германии любые, высказывающиеся против любого элемента государственной политики относительно беженцев, немедленно клеймятся как крайне правые экстремисты, как полные ненависти преступники, представляющие опасность для общества. Некоторые из них, выборочно, преследуются при помощи мощных диффамационных кампаний. Автор Акиф Пиринчи (Akif Pirinçci) стал последней их жертвой, после его речи на демонстрации группы PEGIDA [расшифровывается как «Патриотические европейцы против исламизации запада»]. Обвинение против него основано на явной лжи.

Даже самый мирный протест сразу оказывается под угрозой разгона. Любая речь или публикация, упоминающая предательство или подобные обвинения немедленно расследуются по статьям об экстремизме и провокаоции насилия. Свежие примеры тому можно найти ежедневно, в таких центральных органах прессы как Der Spiegel, Die Welt, Bild и пр. Если бы эта ситуация возникла случайно, такой спонтанный консенсус был бы весьма маловероятен. С первого же дня это была явная кампания пропаганды и диффамации против правды и против интересов коренного населения Европы.

Немецкая пресса даже заработала себе новую, хорошо прилипшую к ней кличку: Lügenpresse (лгущая пресса), и теперь это слово можно услышать на каждом углу. С глазу на глаз, политиков повсеместно обзывают предателями.

Государственной железнодорожной компании приказано поставлять бесплатные поезда для «беженцев», транспортирующие их в каждый угол Германии как можно быстрее, а обычные поезда задерживаются.

Пустующие дома и квартиры насильно конфискуются и бесплатно передаются в пользование «беженцев». Каждому «беженцу» предоставляется жилплощадь, оплачиваемая обществом, вплоть до 400 евро в месяц. Некоторые подонки спешат на этом хорошенько подзаработать, делая старых и больных немцев бездомными.

Полиции и прессе приказано замалчивать известия о преступлениях, совершаемых «беженцами», так что тщетно было бы их искать в сводках новостей, и даже в полицейских отчётах. Но если вы поспрашиваете народ, то услышите полно историй о нападениях и изнасилованиях в каждом городе в Германии. Несколько лагерей с «беженцами» сгорело, но большинство из них было сожжено собственным их населением, в основном в качестве протеста или из-за мелких несогласий. Полицейские сирены теперь звучат в каждом городе в любой час дня и ночи.

Когда «беженцы» начали обворовывать магазины, а потом принялись громить супермаркеты, правительство приказало ретейлерам об этом помалкивать, и с тех пор оплачивает всё, что было поломано или украдено. Единственные исключения—это спиртное и сигареты; всё остальное добро поставляется бесплатно, и концы в в воду.

Сектор мелкого бизнеса объявил «беженцев» нетрудоспособными, из-за отсутствия квалификации, нежелания работать и отсутствия языковых навыков. Однако эксперты-экономистя, выступающие в прессе, каким-то образом умудряются видеть в них «огромный потенциал» для экономического роста. Единственный совет Германии, поступивший от бундесканцлера Меркель, заключается в словах «Wir schaffen das» (мы это сделаем), но пояснений относительно того, что мы сделаем, и как, не поступило. Но любой, кто осмелится подумать за себя, может обо всём догадаться сам.

Вкратце, любой здравый политический, да и просто человеческий инстинкт воспрепятствует такому безрассудному, потенциально необратимому и, кроме всего прочего, противозаконному поведению. Его конечный результат ничего не стоит предвидеть: либо это крах Европы—главным образом тех стран, которые «беженцы» держат на прицеле, а именно Германии, Австрии и Швеции—либо война. Так как я не верю в возможность совпадений или обыкновенной глупости в таких грандиозных масштабах, это результат либо предательства, либо государственной измены. По крайней мере два дела было возбуждено по этому вопросу против нынешнего правительства—одно по организации преступной иммиграции, а второе, совсем недавно, по государственной измене. Но они вряд ли получат ход, потому как правовые органы сами замешаны в этих преступлениях. Но если состав преступления государственной измены в данный момент еще не явен, он станет явным через какие-нибудь несколько недель—и будет объявлен всеми, потому что конца ему не видно.

Остальное организованное общество ведёт себя не менее предательски. Пресса в открытую объявила себя врагом демократии и общества в целом—в лучшем случае они коллаборационисты. Церковь, несмотря на то, что насильственный ислам подвергает её прямой опасности, молится за еще больше иммигрантов, проклиная всех, кто осмеливается выразить свои сомнения вслух. Это полнейшее предательство! Полиция и армия не в состоянии справиться с ситуацией. Армию уже давно урезали до такой степени, что она стала совершенно неэффективна, плюс она изнурена интернациональными миссиями. Полиция не способна справиться с миллионами потенциальных врагов, рассеянных по всей Европе, и ожидающих приказа к наступлению.

Для иностранных обозревателей всё это может прозвучать неправдоподобно и утрировано. Но подумайте сами: нынче в некоторых местах в Германии, когда вы звоните в полицию, никто не берёт трубку, а если и берет, то ничего не может сделать. Один мой знакомый позвонил на горячую линию (а не на обычный местный номер) и ему посоветовали самому организовать какую-нибудь милицию, и решить проблему самим. В поселке населением в 600 человек может быть отсилы десяток полицейских, и, частенько, около тысячи «беженцев», которых им надо держать под контролем. И никто не приедет к ним на подмогу если эти «беженцы» вдруг решат забрать себе всё то, что, по их мнению, уже им принадлежит—потому что, я догадываюсь, им кто-то так сказал. Мы сорвались с якоря в море, полное врагов, и фронт в этой войне будет проходить вдоль дверных ковриков со словом «Willkommen» (добро пожаловать) перед нашими входными дверями.

Мне вроде как снится кошмар, а пробудиться и никак не могу. Многие ощущают свою беспомощность, и не желают отдавать себе отчёт в грустной истине происшедшего: нас предали все, кому мы доверили нашу безопасность и наши надежды на будущее. Хоть я и воспринимал конец глобальной экономики как нечто само собой разумеющееся, этот уровень предательства и злой воли, чтобы всё разрушить в одночасье, застал меня врасплох. Среди около 20 человек, с которыми я это потихоньку обсудил, абсолютно все убеждены, что всё двигается в сторону гражданской войны—и быстро! Неизвестно лишь то, кто её начнёт: немцы, «беженцы», или правительство. Лишь один крупный теракт отделяет нас от наступления полнейшего хаоса. От нескольких людей, вовлеченных в европейские огранизации госбезопасности стало известно, что рынок нелегального огнестрельного оружия целиком опустошён, и что многие продавцы придерживают инвенртарь, собираясь пустить его в ход сами. Это слух, но так как мы вынуждены полагаться на слухи, чтобы получить хоть какую-нибудь достоверную информацию, мне кажется, что он достоен доверия.

Появилось небольшое движение протеста, освещённое в прессе в Германии и даже за рубежом. Уже целый год движение PEGIDA собирается каждый понедельник в Дрездене, чтобы протестовить против европейской иммиграционной политики. У них возникло много поддержки с тех пор, как плохая иммиграционная политика привела к этому искусственному «Völkerwanderung» (переселению народов). 19 октября—в годовщину организации—около 35-40 человек собралось для мирного протеста, и тут же их атаковали воинственно настроенные «протестующие» из движения Antifa (антифашистов). Это якобы антифашистская организация настолько насильническая и фашистская в своём поведении, что из их числа вполне получились бы настоящие фашисты из SA или NSDAP. Один из членов PEGIDA был избит и серьёзно ранен железным прутом ещё до того, как демонстрация началась. Несколько сот полицейских было вынуждено бороться за свою жизнь много часов подряд. Antifa, которую многие считают правительственным органом, имеет лишь одну цель: подавлять любое сопротивление—абсолютно как SA («Sturmabteilung», Гитлеровские штурмовые отряды), только без красивых военных форм.

Не удивительно, что теперь PEGIDA стала главной мишенью для ненависти и диффамации. Несмотря на её незначительный размер, похоже, что правящие круги узрели в ней серьёзную опасность, потому что запрет на освещение её в прессе в течение всего прошлого года её не подорвал. Но не смотря на их активность в Дрездене, в целом результат изменить нельзя. Вторжение уже увенчалось успехом. С каждым днём числа «беженцев» оборачиваются всё больше против нас. Теперь, в лучшем случае, результатом будет гражданская война в течение месяца, и этот процесс будет повёрнут вспять. В худшем случае это будет полнейший развал европейских стран в течение года, и обширные регионы континента станут неуправляемыми. Раскол между правительством и народом уже почти полный. Ни один зравомыслящий человек не верит ни прессе, ни правительству. Те, кто им верят, прячутся среди собственных вымыслов, полных ненависти и самоненавистничества. Никогда досель я столь ясно не видел, насколько это общество сломано, где каждый его ключевой элемент работает и против каждого, и против всех в целом, и где все следуют приказам копать себе самим могилы.

И вот снова беспрекословное повиновение охватило немецкое общество, но на этот раз без согласия масс, потому что на этот раз окончательное решение [им. в виду геноцид] заготовлено для нас. Хаос, который последует, не будет случайностью: он был спроектирован и выполнен по заказу.

И вот снова, ещё одно поколение немцев будет вынуждено отвечать на вопросы своих правнуков: Как вы это позволили?
